We are delighted to annouce our new rugby partnership with Watsonians, the semi-professional team set to play in Scottish Rugby’s newly formed top-tier domestic FOSROC Super 6 competition.
The partnership with Watsonians brings great opportunities for EURFC boys to train and play with high quality players and coaches on a regular basis. The partnership will include full time coaching, joint training sessions with the semi-professional squad and supervised strength and conditioning. Further, joint analyais sessions and the sharing of top level coaching will be sure to benefit both squads.
The partnership will be kicking off this academic year, where the two squads will train and play against one another. Two great teams coming together will allow for a great quality of rugby to be played!
Head of Performance Rugby at The University of Edinburgh, David Adamson, said: “It’s hard juggling the joint commitments of studying and playing rugby at a high level. These young players deserve the highest level of support, guidance, training and playing opportunities and so we’re proud of the Team Performance Programme that we’ve developed here at the University that provides this for them. This new partnership with Watsonians adds another dimension to this and creates a clear and structured pathway that will provide our student players with a fantastic opportunity to further develop their rugby within a semi-professional environment.”
